It was not an easy walk because it was muddy, and the heat was just scorching. We walked about 3km to get there.
When we arrived, they were already distributing the diplomas, and I can really see in their faces that they were really happy.
The Marist Brothers are the missionaries that sacrificed their life to teach these kids, and now there are only three of them. They also got the support of some villagers. They said that other students had to walk about 5 hours just to get there.
Later in the program, they had an intermission number. A musical performance. a native one. They grabbed the ethnic musical instruments that were decorated on the stage. They spoke native language, that I couldn’t even understand them. They played instrumental songs. It was beautiful, and amazing. I can really feel the ethnicity of the their music. It was real, and pure. It was an honor hearing the real one. Real native people playing their music.
After that, we rested a bit, and was invited to take lunch, that they prepared. We were hungry from the walk so we didn’t hesitate.
Eagles that the natives took care. I think the first one is a Philippine Bald Eagle, and the other is a baby Philippine Eagle.
We went home. Walking 3km again, but this time I took a lot of pictures.
